Kitten losing hair!! help.?

Recently I brought home a stray kitten and nursed her back to health, which i have done before. I have numerous animals, all of whom I love dearly. Recently she started losing hair on her tail and now her head. Otherwise she is healthy and very happy. My husband says its mange but im not so sure. Anyone have any ideas? I hate to pay outragous vet bills if this is a simple problem (been there done that).

could be ring worm ..but why have animals if you don't want to care for them properly by taking to the vet ??

Sorry hun I think you will have to take your kitten to the vet.

It might be ringworm, that's usually what it will look like in a cat. You can try some extra strength Lotrimin and give it about a week. If she doesn't lose any more hair and the spots look a little better continue to use it for about another week to 10 days. Also be real careful because this is extremely contagious and both you and your other animals can get it. It might be best if you took it to the vet and asked them just to LOOK at it. Not bloodwork and all that. An office visit just to look should be less than 30 dollars, just call around.

Yes chicken and rice is an excellent diet for dogs, not heard of it for cats though, I'm pretty sure you will need an ointment of the vets to rub on the places she is losing hari so unfortunatly this is probley your only option.

Yep, I think a trip to the vets might be needed on this occasion - hair loss generally denotes an itchy, maybe painful skin condition, and unless it's diagnosed accurately the treatment won't necessarily help - it may even end up making things worse!

No-one likes the extortionate fees vets charge, but at the end of the day, it's part of the responsibility of animal ownership to do/pay whatever is required to keep them healthy and happy.

Hope you get it sorted!
