Pit losing hair?

My One year old Pit bull is losing hair in Patches. He has one by his chin and 2 on his neck and one above his eye. I'm not sure if this is normail or should i take him to the Vet?

Please Help me... He's my baby.

It sounds like Demodectic mange, which is very common in this breed.

Where did you get him? A shelter?

I would take him to the Vet, and ask to have skin scrapings done .

That's the only way to know what it truly is.

Aww, so sorry.

There could several reasons

mange

dermatitis,

allergies.

Yes, take your baby to the vet!

By all means, do take your baby to the vet; it could be sand fleas, not to mention some type of Mange.

aw, im really sorry about your pitbull. however, there can be a reasonably explanation for this. it would be best if you take him to the veterinarian to get checked. there can be so many reasons to this problem and honestly, im not sure. i'll need more information to actually know the problem. there can be a problem w/ his skin (rash, hair loss). this is a very common problem found in a lot of dogs of any types. how long has this been going on? if its been going on for quite a long time, its so much better if you take him to the veterinarian. if it didnt start long ago, you should still take him to the vet but wait a little because even if it's a serious problem, you need to observe and make sure everything's fine. i understand that he's your baby and im very and dearly sorry. there's not much i can say only on taking him to the vet. i know how you feel. im very overprotective over my baby and wherever i go, i always think about him. its hard to think of a dog being in a hard condition. i promise everything will be fine. obviousely, the vet will treat him as best as they can and you'll be happy and so will he. take some time on helping him before it gets worse. by the way, i just thought of other reasons. this could also be fleas or ticks. you know what would help? give him a bath. buy some kind of medical shampoo and give him a nice and clean bath. let the shampoo sit for a while...maybe for at least 2 minutes or more depending on how big he is. after, wash all the shampoo off and make sure it's ALL off because leaving over left over shampoo is bad plus its bad enough for your baby afterall he's losing fur. wait at least a day and see what happens. if it is still going on or gets worse, i'd highly suggest taking him to the vet.

If and when you do take him to the vet ask them to test for ringworm.
