Losing hair like crazy!?

My daughter is about 2 1/2 months old, I am nursing and I have been losing my hair. Its scary because when I run my fingers through my hair 10-15 strands of hair get caught in my finger...and I could do it repeatedly. My fiance had to snake the drain in the bathtub because of how much hair ive been losing. Is this normal? Ive been nervous because I lost some hair after I had my son but not like this. Has this happened to anyone else or should I call the doctor?

Losing hair like crazy!?

This is completely normal.

Many new moms are surprised to find themselves shedding more hair than usual in the first few months after giving birth, but it's perfectly normal. And there's no need to panic: You won't go bald. In fact, your hair should be back to normal by your baby's first birthday.

Here's what's going on. Normally, about 85 to 95 percent of the hair on your head is growing and the other 5 to 15 percent is in a resting stage. After the resting period, this hair falls out 閳?often while you're brushing or shampooing it 閳?and is replaced by new growth. An average woman sheds about 100 hairs a day.

Yes, my son is 8 mos. old and I'm still losing hair. My hair looks funny now on the sides, all of it fell out.

When I was pregnant I noticed I hardly lost any hair! Now that my son is 4 months old it's falling out like a shedding dog! From my reading (I read everything I can get my hands on about pregnancy and babies) it's perfectly normal. My hubby too has had to fix the bathtub drain because of my hair!

Losing hair like crazy!?

It's normal. Your body holds onto your hair while you are pregnant. You might have noticed that your hair was thicker while you were pregnant. After your hormones drop your body no longer holds on to that 9 months worth of hair you would normally be shedding.

Losing hair like crazy!?

It is perfectly normal! It happened to me and it freaked me out however it is just the hormones getting back into balance. It won't last long don't worry.

Isn't it gross?? I hated that. I think my hair loss slowed down when my daughter was 5 months or so. I was pulling out clumps! Thank God I have a lot of hair...

It's totally normal. The pregnancy hormones are leaving your body, and this is part of it. When you were preggers you really didn't lose much hair. It'll stop in a while, sorry!
