Is losing hair sign of cancer or u lose hair only when u undergo chemotherapy?
You may be suffering from Alopecia Areata. It is a medical condition that you have no control over. You may see an excess of hair in your comb or brush, it may just come out in your hands when you run them through the hair.
This happened to me some years ago and I was prescribed a medication by my doctor and the hair loss stopped but not before I'd lost a huge patch that finally grew back. I'd check with my doctor on this before it gets any worse.
There are over the counter remedies but I'd not want to trust them unless the doctor approved them.

Its a side effect of chemo or radiation. You dont have cancer. did you change shampoos or are you using new hair products? it could be a side effect of that.

Only when you go through chemo.
Maybe you havent been eating enough iron or other minerals.
I would start taking a vitamin supplement every day.

Chemotheraphy makes you lose hair. The chemicals make it happen. Your hair loss might be stress or you might have iron deficiency. If you're pregnant, you have a higher chance of iron deficiency anemia. It affects about 1 in 5 women, I think.

It is NOT the cancer that causes the hair loss, it is the chemotherapy.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that you have cancer because you are loosing your hair, but I would get a blood test done. I was diagnosed with AML last April, and prior to that I was loosing my hair at a higher rate then usual. I would be taking a shower and I'd have clumps of hair in my hands. I did not take it seriously, just thought it was stress from a new job. If you have night sweats accompanied with the hair loss, I'd take it more seriously. I also want to point out that chemotherapy does not always cause hair loss either.
Is losing hair sign of cancer or u lose hair only when u undergo chemotherapy?
A person under going cancer treatments such as radiation and/or chemo have a chance of losing their hair. If you are not under going either of these treatments, then you may be losing hair for natural purposes. Hair loss comes from the mother's side of the family and can occur in people at a young age. Losing your hair does not mean you have cancer.

In your case it could be genetics or a new hair product. Did you change a shampoo or something before you noticed the problem? I went through chemo and lost all my hair but it depends on the 'recipe' of the chemo. It wasn't cancer that caused the hair loss, it was the cure but well worth it.
